Adeline’s POV

“Come back home.”

I heard Theodore’s voice behind me, and as I turned to look at him.

Come back home? The words stuck in my throat.

I wasn’t expecting him to be so soft on Iris—not after everything she had done to him.

He didn’t even pause to think about it. He didn’t discuss it with me, didn’t ask me what had just transpired between us.

He simply stepped out and told her to come back home, just like that. After she became an outcast.

“Really?” Iris gasped, rushing toward him as she wiped her face that was filled with tears the very minute she sighed Theodore.

“If you and your baby aren’t safe here, then come back home, Iris.”
