Chapter 51. Problems!
Theodore’s POV
“Adeline! Adeline! Open up!” I banged on the door, hitting my knuckles hard on it, but I got no response from Adeline.
I stood there, listening, hoping for even the smallest sound—her footsteps, her breath, anything—but there was only silence.
I refused to walk away. I waited, resting my body against the doorframe, my heart pounding in my chest, louder than my fists against the door.
“Adeline!” I called again, louder this time, banging harder.
Still nothing.
Then I heard the rush of water inside. The bathroom. She could definitely hear me.
“Adeline! I know you can hear me!” I yelled, almost choking. “Come on, please.”
She still didn’t come.
I folded my fists.
Ever since I let Iris return, things had really changed.
Adeline hadn’t been the same. She didn’t want to hear Iris’s side of the story. She shut everything out and let her emotions were starting to control her.
