Chapter 63. Break the Mate Bond
Adeline’s POV
It had been three weeks. Three long weeks since I’d last stepped foot inside this house—this room.
And now, I was only here to pick up a few things I’d left behind, things I hadn’t been able to gather because I’d been full to the brim with work at the hospital.
My days had blurred into nights there, the hours melting under different patients, files, medicines, and exhaustion.
“It’s been three weeks and you’ve not slept home,” Theodore said, as I walked into the room.
I didn’t look at him. I didn’t need to. I walked straight to the dresser, my eyes set on the drawer where my notebooks and a few folded scrubs were tucked away.
“I’ve been occupied,” I said simply.
“You’re my wife, Adeline,” he said, and I could feel him coming closer.
“I’m the pack’s Luna, yes. But I’m also the pack’s doctor. And I have a duty to them. I can’t ignore that,” I replied without turning to him.
