Chapter 66. I Love You

Adele's POV

"It's why you never said it back when I said it. That is why you've never told me," he began saying calmly again before looking back into my eyes. "that you love me."

His last few words came in such whispers that I felt my heart stop for a bit. 

What?! 

"But really, do I mean nothing to you? Is that how little my trust in you is?" He questioned as he took slow steps forward, causing me to move back a bit.

"Could you not confide in me?"

"You could have told me first, Adele!" He yelled and I felt my eyes sting immediately.

"But you chose to distance yourself from me instead," he commented silently and I closed my eyes as I tried to savor what was happening. 

I opened my eyes to meet Chris's gaze on me. He still has that hurt and disappointed look on his face and he has no idea how badly his look is tearing me apart.

He let my hand go all of a sudden before taking a few steps back. He turned around to walk
