Chapter 68. You Are Perfection Itself

Adele's POV

It's Saturday and Chris is driving me to his mother's house himself. I did not notify her beforehand of my visit, because I want to surprise her. 

"I hope she is at home," I commented with slanted lips as I stared at the road ahead of us. 

"She is always at home on Saturdays, trust me" Chris replied and I turned to look at him. 

"You keep saying that. What if she isn't?" I asked with a frown on my face. 

"Well, then it's out of my hands," Chris started with a nonchalant look on his face. 

"I wasn't the one who wanted to give her a surprise visit," he added before raising both hands from the steering wheel. 

"Chris!" I shouted immediately and his hands went back on the steering wheel instantly. 

"What?!" He questioned, matching the tone I had used for him. 

"You are going to get us killed," I answered through gritted teeth as I bore holes beside his head with my eyes.
