I believed this was my end, and there was no help coming. I had surrendered to my fate. If I were to be killed by Hermes, I had accepted it.

“Hey, what are you still lying there? I have opened the door for you.” I opened my eyes to see a man holding the dungeon door.

I furrowed my brows at him.

“Don’t you want to leave here?”

“Weren’t you ordered to kill me?” I asked, blinking at him. Why was he releasing me from my captivity?

He sighed and approached me. He took my hand and pulled me up. “Can you walk?”

“I have no strength.”

“Then lean on me, and I will take you out of here.”

“You’re Hermes’ henchman. Why are you helping me?”
