Freya’s POV

“You need to take Sienna and get out of here,” Rufus said, his voice stern as he commended. He scared me a little, I could see the anger in his eyes as he spoke through gritted teeth.

“Rufus,” I said as my voice shook with fear. “Come with us please, I can’t risk you dying.”

“Freya,” Rufus husked, lowering his tone as he ran his fingers over my cheek. “They will be the ones dying tonight, I promise.”

I shook my head, I wasn’t prepared to leave Rufus to fight Gerald and Hazel alone. “I’m coming with you.”

“I refuse,” Rufus said. “Do as I say, just this once Freya,” I could see the anger rise in him once more. “Take Sienna to safety and I will join you outside when I am done with them.”
