Chapter 66. Sick Olive

Olive stirred, and Wayne sat up immediately beside her on the bed. He looked at her face and exhaled in relief. She was still sleeping. Her complexion and body were back to normal now, and she was breathing steadily, too. He had undressed and slipped into bed beside her earlier but hadn't been able to sleep; instead, he had kept watch over her as if she were a newborn baby. It had been over a day already, yet she still hadn't woken up. He had been so worried at first. Terrible thoughts had crossed his mind. If his sister hadn't been around to reassure him that Olive was fine, he would have completely broken down.

‘Is she awake?’ Dolly’s voice came through their mind link, as if she too had sensed Olive’s movement.

‘No. Just stirring,’ he answered, laying his head back down. He stared up at the ceiling and ruffled his hair in frustration.
