Wayne cleared his throat because he felt a lump forming. He didn’t want to answer this question—at least, not yet. He looked into Olive’s eyes and realized she truly wanted to know. She must have been dying to find out for some time now, especially considering the show his eyes had been putting on lately. He smiled.

“You won’t tell anyone, right?” he asked, and she quickly nodded. “This is a long-kept secret that no one knows except my father, Dolly, and my inner circle. No one else in the pack knows,” he stated, running his fingers through the hair on her back, careful not to disturb the thick braid.

“Why just you guys?” Olive asked, her brows furrowing.

“Do you really want to know why?” he asked, and she nodded again. He exhaled with a smile. She was his mate, and she deserved to know exactly what she was bound to. “I have three wolves,” he revealed.
