Chapter 71. The Accident

Olive was covered in blood. Her red dress appeared even darker, soaked through with the deep crimson liquid. Her face was bleeding heavily, and blood gurgled from her mouth as she struggled to breathe. Despite the unimaginable pain, she was still semi-conscious.

“Olive! Baby!” Wayne panicked, horror gripping him at the sight of her. He grabbed the shard of glass embedded in his arm and ripped it out abruptly, slicing his own palm in the process. But that didn't matter to him—not in the slightest. Olive was dying right in front of him. “Baby, hang in there. Hang in there for me, please,” he cried out. Hot tears stung his eyes as she gasped for air, blood pouring from her lips. The metal rod had pierced straight through her chest, right near her heart. If help didn’t arrive soon, she would… No. No way.
