Chapter 58. The Talk
“So…” Her hand slipped off his arm, falling limp at her side. “…you planned on sweeping everything under the rug? If I didn’t remember, you’d just let it go? Pretend it never happened?”
Damon froze, panic devouring his features as he realized the calm before the storm was already over. Now, he was forced to face the consequences of what he had done.
“Sarah…” His annoyingly soft voice made her stomach twist. It was hard to look at him, hard to even breathe. Her chest heaved, a hand clenching over her burning mark.
She remembered everything… from the words he said, the kiss he and Katie shared, to the moment she passed out across the floor… alone. And it kept replaying in her head, over and over and over again.
“If you’d just listen to what I hav—” He swallowed thickly when he reached for her and she immediately turned away, evading his touch. His hands clenched, falling. “Sarah… What I did… I…” Damon licked his lip, looking away. He couldn’t stare into her eye
