There was something about him that I couldn't quite put my finger on. His obvious unusual closeness to Killian was a start and the fact that he didn't appear like he was happy to see me.

If he really was just a good friend of Killian's then, he would've been happy for his friend that I was returned.

Or maybe it was because he was a good friend of Killian's. That he knew that Killian did not even care about me. He knew that to Killian I was a simple responsibility and that was why he just didn't give a fuck about my arrival.

"What happened to him?" Mikel's mother asked.

Killian opened his mouth to answer but before he did, another voice came in, "he was badly beaten up by Frederick and his men ''.

The voice was mine.

Killian's eyes fell on me and so did everyone in the room. Including that friend of his.

Killoam gave me a smile but it wasn't enough to get rid of the indignation I was feeling in my heart.
