"Ivy, do you have any plans for tonight?" my mother asked me. Everybody turned their attention to me, anticipating my answer.
Well, sorry to disappoint… "There's a book I started a few days ago that I haven't had time to sit down and finish. I'll be reading that."
My mother was clearly not impressed by my plans. Sean wasn't either, as he loudly commented, "Bookworm."
I ignored him and kept on eating.
"Come on, dear," my mother told me. "It's summer, you should have fun. You read a lot, maybe you should take a break and go outside. You can't spend all summer cooped up in your room with a book."
