Chapter 140. Health Concern

I couldn't sleep because I didn't have my pillow, Cassian. Usually, I find comfort resting my head on his chest and hearing his heartbeat. But tonight, I really missed him. I hugged his pillow tightly, but it didn't make me sleepy.

Then, I had an idea. I got out of bed and took one of Cassian's shirts from the closet. I wrapped it around the pillow and held it close. The shirt smelled like Cassian, which made me feel like he was there with me. The only thing missing was his heartbeat, but I couldn't control that. Cassian must still be on the plane or maybe he just landed. I didn't want to disturb him by calling if he was tired.

I sighed in frustration and held the pillow even tighter. I looked at a picture of Cassian and smiled. I really wanted him to be here with me. This was only the first night without him, and I still had three more weeks to go. I didn't know how I would make it through.
