In the morning, the light came into the room and I waited for Noah. I needed to be with Seraphina, but there were things that needed to be done for her. She had slept on my lap peacefully, but the events from last night were heavy on my mind. I couldn't sleep, worried about what she had gone through. I didn't want to disturb her, so I left quietly when Mary aunt came. I asked Mary aunt to explain that Seraphina wasn't feeling well, so people wouldn't ask her about the bad things that happened.
Noah came through the door and gave me some papers. "I talked to the police. They need Seraphina to tell them what happened and sign these papers. You have to sign them too," he said.
