Chapter 22. Offended
“Uncle, I’m a true adventurer. I can’t let anyone else carry my tools. I’m independent and strong,” Sky said while protecting her backpack with both hands.
“Well then,” Edmund glanced at Hunter. “Mr. Green, may we rest for a moment? Is there somewhere around here that’s safe to sit and relax?”
Hunter thought for a moment. He couldn’t deny that he was impressed by Edmund’s attention toward Sky. But at the same time, he knew he had to stay alert. His suspicions shouldn’t ease until he had clear evidence. If possible, he should interrogate Edmund.
“We have a resting point nearby. We can sit there for a while before continuing our journey. Sky, can you lead the way?”
Hunter raised an eyebrow playfully.
The little girl’s enthusiasm flared up again.
“Of course I can!”
