Rachel fell silent for a moment. After a blink, she forced a smile.

“Yes. After getting married, we moved to Canada.”

“Where did you meet Lucas? And in which country did you have your wedding?”

Rachel froze again. Her lips trembled as if she was about to answer, but several seconds passed and she still didn’t make a sound.

“Mama, where did you meet Papa?” Sky asked while twirling spaghetti with her fork. “I’m curious too.”

Rachel let out a small laugh.

“If you’re curious, let’s wait until Papa comes home. He’ll tell the story properly, and it’ll be more exciting to hear it that way.”

“Why don’t you just tell us? Or… have you forgotten?”
