Hawa’s POV

I was quite taken aback by what he had just said. He stared at me so intensely that I felt my lower abdomen contract.

“I don’t understand,” I said.

“Are you sure you don’t?” he asked.

He walked toward me slowly until he was right in front of me, making me look up to meet his eyes. We locked gazes, and the tension between us was palpable. He gently caressed my cheek with his fingers, sending a shiver through my body.

He pushed me against the door and started kissing my neck with ardor, moving toward my lips. We kissed passionately, breathlessly, until he pulled back and rested his forehead against mine.

“Hawa, I can’t stand seeing you in someone else’s arms,” he said.
