Ousmane’s POV

I parked in the courtyard of the Ministry, hoping Karim was there, but I knew he usually didn’t arrive until around 10 o’clock, and it was only 9. I got out and headed to his office, hoping that my friend miraculously would be there, but he hadn’t arrived yet.

I pulled out my phone and called him.

“Karim, where are you? I’m at your office.”

“Oh, really? Is there a problem?”

“No… Yes… Anyway, are you coming, or are you still at home?”

“I’ll be there soon.”

“Okay.”

I waited for him, sitting on one of the seats in the waiting room. His assistant kept glancing at me. Karim finally walked in.

“It must be really serious for you to leave your office at this hour,” Karim said, greeting his assistant as we entered his office.

“I’m in trouble,” I confessed.

“Just by looking at your face, I can tell. The way you left yesterday, I knew it wasn’t good,” Karim replied.

“Forget about it, my friend,” I said
