Hawa’s POV
The look she gave me was full of disdain.
“Zayate!”
“What? I don’t have all night. I want to go home.”
She opened the car door and got in. I wanted to do the same, but she wasn’t having it.
“Uh, where do you think you’re going to sit? Have you looked at yourself? You and I in the same car? No way. Ousmane, do you want to mix me with the dirt?”
How could such ugly words come out of such a pretty mouth?
“Zayate, control your language,” her fiancé scolded.
“I said she’s not getting in the car.”
“You need to stop this right now!!! Do you understand? Hawa, get in.”
“I’ll see where you’re going to drop her off.”
“There’s no point in arguing over such a small thing,” I said. “Moud, can you give me a lift?”
“Sure, no problem.”
Zayate honked so much that I thought it would never end. I wanted to laugh but held it back. After all, it was her future husband’s car. Ousmane looked at me apologetically
