Zayate’s POV

I climbed the stairs in a fury, tears streaming down my face. I wasn’t sure of anything; I had just fished for the truth and ended up discovering something that crushed my heart. How could Ousmane sleep with someone like that? How could he?

I yanked open the closet, pulled down my bags and suitcase, and began stuffing my things inside. Thankfully, some of my belongings were still unpacked.

“Zayate, baby, don’t do this, please,” he said as he stumbled into the room.

“Don’t touch me!!! Two weeks of marriage, and you cheat on me. I leave for a couple of months, and you cheat on me. What will it be like after?”

“I’m sincerely sorry, Zayate. Forgive me, sweetie.”

“No, I can’t stand it. You cheat on me with that kind of girl,” I said angrily.

“Please forgive me, baby. Don’t leave me. It won’t happen again, I promise.”

“Yes, it won’t happen again because I’m leaving. You can go be with her since you like her so much.”
