Chapter 21. First Date
I rested my chin on one hand while the other was busy flipping through the file Cedric had just brought. Even him. Since his arrival an hour ago, neither of us has spoken. I'm busy analyzing and starting to put the pieces of this confusing puzzle together.
"Wow."
I turn my head and look at Cedric with a frown on my forehead. "Just? Wow?"
My brother laughed as he rubbed the tip of his nose. "I didn't expect the drama to be this crazy."
I didn't know whether to respond with a smile or sadness at the situation.
"No wonder Uncle Jacky is so persistent. Grandpa Jordy seems to have known about it too."
"I guess."
Cedric looked straight into my eyes, which did not move. "What about you?"
"I still can't come to a clear conclusion, Cedric. Should you talk to Uncle Jacky? I have a feeling that there is still some mystery involved."
My brother nodded hesitantly. The gesture of his slow nod implied just that. "It's more dangerous, Sis."
