Chapter 105. Smarter

I had to call Dominus' phone before I could get him down to the Alpha's office. I lied to him that the office was on fire and waited for him outside the office. He was breathless by the time he got there.

'What the hell, Lance? Why did you lie to me like that?' 

'I have tried reaching you through the mind link to no avail, so I called,' I said, shrugging.

'That still doesn't excuse your lie,' Dom said breathing hard. He must have been really scared. 

'Metaphorically speaking, it is on fire. The Vice President of the council is on his way to collect Alan's corpse,' I explained to him.

'What? Alan is not dead. How do you produce the corpse of a living man?' Dominus asked frowning.

'Elder Nat is in there with our parents. He said he had an idea of how we could go about it. That was why your dad said I should go get you,' I explained.
