Chapter 13. Acceptance

Eryn’s POV

The Principal’s office is silent. My father and the Alpha’s mood seems to have changed since this morning. They both look very pleased with themselves.

My shoes tap impatiently on the floor while I wait for someone to speak. The Alpha is staring annoyingly at my feet, but I don’t stop moving. I have never been so uncomfortable in my whole life. Eventually, I grow tired of waiting for someone to start.

“Why am I here?” I finally ask.

The Principal looks at my father and the Alpha before he speaks. He looks nervous. Alpha Kristof nods in his direction, and the principal holds out a piece of paper to me.

“This arrived for you this morning,” the Principal clears his throat awkwardly.

With shaky hands, I take the paper from the Principal, but I don’t look at it. I place it neatly in my lap and wait for someone to explain.

“Go on,” Dad says proudly. “Read it.”

I look down at the paper and take a deep breath.
