Chapter 19. Birthday Run

Eryn’s POV

My phone buzzes loudly, waking Cassie and me from our sleep.

“Are you fucking kidding me,” she groans from across the room. “I thought you blocked his number.”

“I did,” I sigh. “He just keeps texting from a new one every day. I have blocked them all.”

“Answer it so it shuts up,” Cassie groans as she rolls over and puts her head under her pillow.

Normally, I delete the texts and block the number immediately. But my broken heart gets the better of me. I swipe up on the notification and see a paragraph from Kyle.

Kyle: Happy Birthday, My Love. I do not know if you will read this message. You have ignored all the others. Not a day goes by that I do not think about you. Not a night goes by that you are not in my dreams. My wolf, Reznor, mourns our loss every day and has not forgiven me for marking Jesse. For what it is worth, I have not let Jesse mark me in return. The only mark that will ever be on my neck will be yours.
