Chapter 25. Escape Plan
Eryn’s POV
My mouth is wide open as Atticus tosses the phone onto my side of the bed. He makes himself comfortable again and closes his eyes, but I keep looking at him, wondering why he stood up for me.
“Close your mouth, or you are going to catch flies,” Atticus grumbles, his eyes still closed.
I snap my mouth shut and begin to scoot out of the bed. Atticus wraps an around my waist and tugs me back onto the bed. My head hits the pillow beside him, and my heart begins to race wildly.
“Sleep,” he says, not loosening his grip around me.
I settle myself into the bed, trying to make myself as comfortable as possible. I let out a sigh and close my eyes, but sleep doesn’t come. I wiggle as I try to scratch my bandaged arm. The skin feels angry.
“Don’t scratch it,” Atticus grunts. “It won’t heal nicely if you do.”
