Chapter 60. Trained

Eryn’s POV

It feels like we have been arguing for hours. Kyle and the nurse have me backed into the corner of the room. Both are speaking to me in low, comforting voices, trying to convince me that Atticus is the villain in this story. But I know better. I remember what happened in that office.

My eyes dart between Kyle and the nurse, and I catch a glimpse of a syringe in the nurse’s hand. She is doing a poor job of keeping it hidden. A snarl hisses from my lips, and I narrow my eyes in her direction.

“I have just finished a year at the Warrior Academy with Alpha Atticus as my personal trainer. I will kill you where you stand if you come near me with that syringe,” I warn her.

The nurse swallows hard and takes a step back, but Kyle shakes his head in disappointment. “She won’t hurt you,” he tells the nurse. “She is all talk.”

“Try me,” I growl in his direction.

“What is it going to take to get you out of this hospital room?” Kyle asks.
