Eryn’s POV

My lips are pressed into a hard line as I look at the massive brace on my knee. It hurts like hell but I am refusing pain medication. If they would take off this fucking collar Thea could heal me within moments. But rather than be civil they are letting me sit here in pain.

Kyle and the doctor are speaking in hushed voices on the other side of the room. They think I can’t hear them, but I haven’t missed a word.

“If we could just take the collar off for a few days she would be back to normal in no time,” the doctor pleads with Kyle.

“No,” Kyle shakes his head. “The collar stays on until she is marked and mated.”

“You are being unreasonable,” the doctor scoffs. “If her wolf does not heal her, she could have lasting effects from this. She may never be able to fight again.”
