Chapter 66. Overweight Lush

Cassie’s POV

I push the bar door open, and the smell makes me gag. It smells like vomit, piss, sweat, and beer all mixed together. It has been years since I have had to pull Atticus out of this place. The last time was when his father left him the pack and turned rogue. What was supposed to be the happiest day of his life was ruined by the selfishness of his family.

The bartender recognizes me right away and nods to the corner, but I don’t need directions. Atticus is sobbing loudly and drunkenly. He has a beer in one hand and is resting his head in the other. His shirt is stained with Goddess knows what, and I don’t want to know what is caught in his beard.

I approach the table, and Atticus looks up. His eyes are red and puffy, and there is no sign of his wolf.
