Chapter 74. Favor

Eryn’s POV

I wake up every night from a deep sleep screaming. The same nightmare of the hospital room plagues me at night and during the day. I put on a brave face and try to pretend like the horrendous things that happened to me don’t bother me, but it is getting harder by the day.

I sneak out of bed in the middle of the night to check the locks of the pack house. Once I am sure they are locked, I begin to check all the windows. By the time I am finished, it is usually morning, and I put on a fake smile and head down to breakfast.

Before I walk into any room, I scan my eyes over the individuals inside. I am looking for Kyle’s dirty blonde hair and menacing hazel eyes. Only when I am sure he isn’t there do I step inside, and even then, I always have an escape plan.

I am sitting in the corner of the dining room with a tiny bit of food on my plate. Everyone has been welcoming me back, but I am not ready to be social just yet.
