Cara's POV

I ran with all I had, deep into the woods, and after a few hours, I discovered I was lost.

Was I going forward or returning to the very place I tried escaping from?

I had decided to leave the pack. I thought about going to Lucian, asking for his help, but I had no assurance he wouldn't rat me out, especially after I told Teo about his little plan. I had no doubt Teo would have confronted him; Lucian had also avoided me lately, he could rat me out as some kind of payback for doing the same to him, so I did the most stuppidest thing: I escaped through the balcony, climbing down.

I tripped a lot of times and secured an unhealthy number of bruises , but I managed to hold on, praying that Rollins wouldn't find out till I was far away. I knew there might be guards, and I was right; I encountered some of them, but I walked past them with my head high. None of them dared question me, but as soon as I was too deep in the woods to be seen.
