Chapter 110. Mother
We were still at the house where the surprise had taken place. As I looked at her, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. She was doing all the things a mother should do—taking care of me and not taking her eyes off me.
I badly wanted to ask her so many questions about our past. I wanted to ask her why she had left me. I wanted to know why she hadn't taken me with her.
I had questions like, what if she hadn't left me with Sister Nieves? Where would I be now? What would our life together have been like? Would she still end up with Mr. Erik? And most importantly, would I have met Roy?
"Do you still want some cake? I'll get you some," she offered.
I shook my head and put down the spoon I was holding. She was about to take my plate when I stopped her.
"You don't need to do this," I said.
