Xavier's POV
I still remember the day I found her as if it were yesterday. Lying on the floor with her back turned to me. A pool of blood around her head, her breathing weak, her heart barely audible. Atlas had repeatedly told me that there was nothing I could have done for her and that bringing her here was the right decision.
She suffered a severe concussion and, to make matters worse, a CT scan revealed a cerebral hemorrhage, which required immediate surgical treatment. Atlas had said it was just an epidural and because of the quick treatment, the chances of recovery are good.
Nevertheless, he had to put her into a coma after the procedure. Her body was too weak, and the injuries were too deep. It tore my heart to see her lying in that bed. Not knowing if she'll be okay, if she'll ever wake up again, if she'll ever look at me with those blue eyes again.
