He could see her folding her arms from behind as she gazed at the glistening colors of sunset on the lake’s surface. Benedict quietly stood beside her, lighting a cigarette and gazing further in the same direction.
Kathleen turned her head to him with a smile when she felt his presence.
“I feel delighted. For the first time, you chose me over your wife.”
Benedict smirked. He knew that she was only teasing him.
