He jammed on the breaks while driving through their neighborhood when he saw someone who looked like Hadley walking on the sidewalk. He steered the wheel to the side, drove up slowly, and followed the walking woman.
To his surprise, Benedict didn’t see it wrong. It was indeed Hadley, walking with a hotdog sandwich in her hands, looking like a squirrel with both cheeks swelling as she chewed.
He quickly pulled the car ahead and got out.
Hadley’s seemingly crestfallen figure somewhat made him anxious.
“H-Hadley?” he called.
The doctor saw him. She glanced at him for a second and then groggily continued walking while munching on her hotdogs.
“It’s late at night. Why are you out here walking alone?” he asked, packed full of concern.
“I went by a convenience store around the corner and bought hotdogs,” she replied, stooped.
“Is that your dinner? Why didn’t you buy more sensible food?” Benedict asked, mad yet looking concerned.
