Sunny’s POV

“Are you alright, Sunny?” Jared asked me as soon as we were able to escape from Kayla and her stupid friends. 

I looked at his hand that was holding mine. “I’m alright, Jared.”

He let go of my hand. “You should’ve told me about that in the first place. You should have told us about it.”

“I didn’t want you and Natalie to be involved. I’m the one they’re actually targeting anyway.”

“But we’re your friends.”

“I’m sorry.”

Jared heaved a sigh. “The next time Kayla and her friends try to hurt you again, just tell me, okay?”

“Jared, Natalie might really tell everyone about your real identity.”

“I don’t care about that, okay? Your safety is more important to me.”
