Chapter 19. Temptation

Ryder POV

Once I was sure she had fallen asleep, I carefully placed her head back on the pillow, making sure not to disturb her peaceful sleep. Her chest rose and fell with each gentle breath.

I could feel the sudden coldness due to the loss of body contact. But I let out a sigh and stood up, my eyes lingering on her face. I couldn’t resist giving her one more glance.

She looked so perfect for me, too good if I’m being honest.

I smiled, looking at her sleeping face. Her stubborn and sharp features had softened, and her eyelashes cast a delicate shadow on her cheeks. My gaze moved down slowly to her parted lips, and I felt something shift in my pants.

Holy fuck! I groaned, quickly tearing my gaze away.

She’s fucking temptation.

My eyes switched back to her face again; a strand of hair had escaped her ponytail and fallen across her forehead.

“Mate, looks so pretty,” Valkar stirred within me, reacting to my emotions, and I nodded.
