Chapter 20. What Did They Do?

Nina POV

The early morning sun seeped through the room, and I groaned, twisting around on the bed. But the sudden growl downstairs jolted me awake. My eyes flew open, and I quickly sat upright, clutching the blanket around my body.

“What was that?” I stammered, my wide gaze sweeping around the room as if to make out what made that loud roar.

And as if on cue, a shrieking sound echoed again, followed by a cry.

I instantly threw off the blanket, slid into my slippers, and rushed toward the door. I pushed it open and hurried downstairs.

“I’m sorry, Prince Ryder. I didn’t do it,” Ali’s anguished voice vibrated through my ears.

I could hear whimpers and snarls. I clutched the side of my clothes in confusion. My eyebrow raised.

I took one more step and walked in where they were all standing. Immediately, they sensed my presence. They all turned around.
