Chapter 40. Ryder’s Betrothed
Nina POV
I sighed.
“I am your mate,” I muttered and glared at him, looking away. He should stop using his aura to force me into obeying whatever he wants.
I rolled my eyes as I heard him sigh. He leaned forward, and the next thing I felt was his thumb lifting my chin to stare back at him. An electric spark gleamed at the mere touch, causing my body to shiver.
“Nina,” he whispered in his husky, deep voice - those voices that always had a way of plucking my senses out. He ran his hand over my hair, combing it backward and removing the other strands that were half-covering my face.
“I don’t want to force you into accepting this bond. I want you to feel it, sense it, and finally accept it on your own, but you kept testing my patience. I know your wolf is still going through pain, but be mindful of your words,” he stared into my hazel eyes and smirked, but I could see the seriousness beneath them.
