Nathan sped toward the airport instead while I leaned on the car seat to meditate on the News from the radio. The radio hummed softly in the background, providing a subdued soundtrack for my racing thoughts. As Nathan weaved through the traffic, my mind reeled with the implications of our parents’ arrival.
My stepfather’s return to Los Angeles seemed to be heralding a shift in the tides, a turning of the wheel that would send ripples throughout my stay in the Mulan’s mansion.
Soon, we got on the airport road. We would be arriving at the airport in a few minutes. The airport road loomed ahead, the iconic signs of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) rising from the horizon like beacons in the distance.
Nathan smoothly navigated the twists and turns, skillfully avoiding the chaotic tangle of traffic. My gaze drifted to the passing scenery, the familiar sights of the city rushing by in a blur.
