Chapter 10
It’s been a week since my operation… time flies. Just like Raven said, I could go home tomorrow. Dr. Angel didn’t find any complications, and I didn’t have any symptoms or signs of organ rejection.
By noon tomorrow, our summer internship would begin, so I was excited about that, too. Dr. Angel said I needed to visit her for regular check-ups before our shift started, and she informed the head pharmacist, Ms. Zia, to assign me office-related work to avoid physical stress.
It was exactly twelve noon when I had lunch, and Raven joined me because he was still the one taking care of me. Mama was still on shift with Aunt Penny, Lance was busy with his shop, and Jessie went to a birthday celebration with her family.
“I won’t let you see me eat because I know you’ll get jealous of my lunch,” he said seriously, pushing his table away and turning his back to me. He had lunch from Greenwich.
