My eyes widened at what I read, and I quickly grabbed my phone from the bed to confirm on Facebook if it was really Raven’s birthday… and it was true. It was indeed his birthday, and I didn’t even know… wow, I feel like such a worthless friend.

“Leslie Valentin?” I immediately turned to the person calling me. It was a woman in her mid-20s, holding two papers—one was new, while the other was yellowed and slightly torn at the edges due to age.

This must be the secretary of this orphanage that Lianna mentioned.

“Yes, ma’am,” I stood up immediately and approached her.

“Sorry for the delay, yes… it’s confirmed. This file came from here.” She handed me the adoption files she was holding. “Lianna Nicole Villanueva was adopted from here.”

I was speechless with what I had just learned.
