Chapter 30
I lied there a bit. I admit, it’s really annoying when someone bugs you because of their mistake, but it’s even more annoying when someone doesn’t bother to bug you when they’re at fault—I feel like, if they don’t bug you, it means they’re not making an effort. That’s how I felt last week… I was slightly annoyed because even one “sorry” didn’t come my way that night when it happened… and then he let a whole week pass.
“Thank you, Leslie. Thank you, thank you,” he suddenly hugged me.
As I felt his head on my shoulder and his hands on my back, and I caught a whiff of his masculine but not overpowering cologne, I felt my face gradually warming up and my heartbeat quickening.
While we were embracing, I remembered what I admitted to myself last week… that I actually liked him.
I quickly broke away from the hug and stood up, “Let’s go outside. Let’s eat this cake you brought.”
