Jackson’s POV

As I saw Sylvester and Blaze approaching our pack, I couldn’t help but feel the weight of the previous events that led us to this point. My heart was heavy with guilt and regret for what happened to Sandy and Dylan.

After I told him what happened, I could feel Sylvester’s anger toward me and I knew that I was at fault for not being able to protect them.

He flared up, and almost attacked me if not for the rest of the pack who came to my rescue. Sylvester looked at me for a moment, and then he said, “You failed me, Jackson.” And walked away.

We had a quarrel for the first time ever. I know I’m a strong werewolf, but I’m not to be compared to my Alpha.
