Chapter 27
Sylvester’s POV
I read the message from Kate, tears streamed down my face. My father is gone, and I never knew him. I came over to her and hugged her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Sandy,” I said softly. “We’re here for you.”
I didn’t know what else to say, so I just put my arm around her and held her close. She buried her face in my chest, and I felt her tears wetting my shirt. “It’s okay, Sandy. Let it out,” I whispered, rubbing her back soothingly.
Sandy was still crying uncontrollably and I knew that I had to be there for her. “Sandy, I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how hard this must be for you,” I said, holding her in my arms.
Damien came over to us, and he too tried to console her. “Sandy, we are here for you. We will get through this together,” he said, placing his hand on her shoulder.
