Kate’s POV
I trudged through the dense forest with Mark and Vin at my side, still reeling from the betrayal of our former comrade Anderson. How could he have sold us out to Tommy and Judy like that? It made no sense. But we couldn’t let it get to us. We had to focus on finding Sandy.
“Any luck with tracking her scent, Vin?” I asked, trying to keep my spirit up.
Vin shook his head. “No, Kate. It’s like she’s vanished into thin air. I can’t seem to pick up her scent anywhere.”
“Maybe we should split up and search in different directions,” Mark suggested.
I nodded. “That’s a good idea. Vin, you head west. Mark, you go east. I’ll stay here and see if I can pick up any clues.”
We parted ways, each of us determined to find Sandy as quickly as possible. As I wandered through the forest, my mind began to drift to other things. Like Anderson. How could we have been so blind to trust him? And what were Tommy and Judy going to do with the information
