Elizabeth's POV

“I need to call my parents and show this to them. This is already becoming more creepy each time I think about it, and I get even more curious every moment that goes by. How did I not know about this person all my life?” I said as I fully lay down on the bed, letting out a frustrated sigh. The mattress sank under my weight, swallowing me into the softness as I stared up at the ceiling.

“Yes, I think you should do that. Maybe they should have an explanation for this, and if they don’t, then that’s when you should panic,” my friend said through the phone, her voice echoing slightly, hinting she might be walking around.

I didn’t want to keep dragging the conversation. My heart was already pounding with enough anxiety for both of us. Without another word, I ended the call. My hands immediately went to my contacts, and I found my dad’s name. I hovered over it for a second, exhaling one last time before hitting the call button.
