Chapter 17. Anger and Concern
Hunter’s POV
The moment I entered the examination room, I scanned her from head to toe, my gaze lingering on the bruise and cut on her forearm. My expression turned stern, and I sighed audibly, shaking my head.
“What happened to you?” I asked, my voice firm but laced with concern.
“It’s just a small bruise.” She tried to brush it off, downplaying the severity of the injury, but I wasn’t having it.
“Don’t give me that,” I said, my tone scolding. “I’ve seen this before. You’re not taking care of yourself, are you? You’re pushing yourself too hard, ignoring your limits.”
I walked closer, my eyes locked on the injury, and I gently touched the bruise.
“This could have been prevented if you’d been more careful. What if it had been worse? What if you’d seriously hurt yourself?”
I stepped back, my arms crossed, and continued lecturing her.
