Chapter 89. Shocking Revelation
Emma’s POV
Her words hung in the air like a challenge, leaving me reeling. “You are… my mother?” I stammered, my mind struggling to comprehend.
The nod was gentle, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. “Yes, child. I am your mother. Or at least, I was.”
I felt like I was dreaming, my breath knocked out of me. I stumbled backward, my eyes wide with shock.
“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “That is not possible. My mother… my mother abandoned me.”
My expression turned sorrowful. “I know, child. I know. But the truth is, I did not leave. I was forced to leave, to protect you from those who sought to harm you.”
My mind reeled as I tried to process this revelation. My mother, alive? It could not be true. And yet, as I looked into the witch’s eyes, I saw something there, a deep love and connection that she could not deny.
“Why?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “Why did you leave me?”
Her sigh was heavy with sorrow
