Chapter 28. Interfere the Enemies
One day, a group of men entered our establishment, demanding money for ‘protection.’ And just like that, we found ourselves back in the world of the mafia.
My heart raced as I watched the group of men approaches our front desk, their faces hard and unforgiving. It took only a moment to realize what was happening-they were here for protection money.
I looked over at Riccardo, seeing the anger and frustration in his eyes.
“We don’t pay protection money,” he said firmly, his voice low and menacing. “And if you think you can intimidate us, you’re sorely mistaken.”
The lead man sneered at him, taking a step closer. “You don’t understand how this works, boy. We’re in charge here. And if you would rather not end up like the last guy who crossed us, you’ll hand over the cash.”
Tension filled the air as the men stared each other down-neither willing to back down. And then suddenly, chaos erupted as one of them drew a gun and fired a shot.
